The 2017 NFL Pro Bowl. It came, it saw, it conquered. After three years of hall of fame coaches fantasy drafting their rosters, the NFL finally brought the Pro Bowl back to the mainland as an inter-conference contest. As has been the recurring theme in recent years, some of the NFL’s biggest stars opted out of playing this exhibition game. So, this game’s starting quarterbacks were Dak Prescott and Alex Smith. Two skilled players from playoff teams, yes, but not the first names that come to mind when you think, ‘all star.’
The good news from this game is that I went against everything I stand for and I took the under at 81.5 total points. The bad news is that there were only 33 points scored. Therefore, not a whole lotta highlights for us to feast on.
We had a fan on the field that was treated like an old friend by AFC and NFC players alike. I’m not saying he was planted by the NFL to rile up the crowd, but I’m also not not saying that.
Travis Kelce and Marquette King both became household names due to their on-field celebrations throughout the season. They even had a spat on Twitter to help spice things up a bit between the unlikely rivals. But, as the old saying goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” and it appears these two bonded over their mutual love of #SaltBae just in time.
Kelce then played a pivotal role in a fake FG play drawn up by his coach Andy Reid, and carried out by teammate Dustin Colquitt. I’d keep this play in the back of my mind if I’m playing an Andy Reid team down the line.
Anyways, Kelce’s performance and theatrics alike earned him………
A brand new car!
Kelce and Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander took home their Offensive and Defensive MVP Awards in their new Genesis’? Genesises? Genesi? Stupid.
I haven’t seen a group of Vikings pick up a Dolphin like that since they spent a little too much time at sea if you know what I mean:
Remember the last time Odell Beckham Jr went to Florida and then everybody got mad at him for not making the big plays the following week? Well, here he is. Making the big play that his team needed him to make during a game in late January.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Kirk Cousins threw an interception, down a touchdown, with less than two minutes left, inside his opponent’s red zone. Yeah, me too. However, with a little schoolyard bullshit, Captain Kirk added a new move to his arsenal:
The Peanut Punch! Despite the pick (that was entirely Jimmy Graham’s fault), that was an incredible showcase of athleticism by who now is the top free agent QB on the market. Hundreds of hearts around the league must have skipped a beat watching Kirk make that play, but luckily no QB1’s were harmed in the making of this film.
Well, that’s it folks. Another Pro Bowl in the books. Only one football game left until the Draft.
P.S. The Miss Universe competition was on simultaneously so I decided to throw a couple bucks on two of the girls; Miss Colombia and Miss France. I must have an eye for talent, because:
My 2 girls finished in the top 3 out of 86 contestants. I have it on record in TheDailyDart GroupMe that Miss France “is a classic underdog story” that we can all rally behind.
Well, my friend Iris Mittenaere aka Miss France took the title as our new Miss Universe. Congratulations to us both.
